Your Invited to Become a Sponsor!

The Texoma Mini Maker Faire is asking for your help to MAKE the biggest show and tell in Texoma.   Join Make Magazine, Think of IT, KFDX, and 100.9 Bob FM as a Sponsor for the Texoma Mini Maker Fair.  Now is your chance to show how forward looking your organization is, and how you understand the impact that creative minds focusing on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math have in our community.

Why is it Important?

Education is progressing from STEM to STEAM – Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics.  Wichita & Clay Counties no longer have regional Science Fair competitions.

A small team, including Technology Entrepreneur Steve Haviland (Think of IT), Business Development and Project Manager Michael Mitchell (Think of IT), January Jones (WFISD PIE co-ord) and many others have sketched out the first Texoma Mini Maker Faire being held at the MPEC October 28, 2017.

Part science fair, part county fair, and part something entirely new, Maker Faire is an all-ages gathering of tech enthusiasts, crafters, educators, tinkerers, hobbyists, engineers, science clubs, authors, artists, students, and commercial exhibitors. These “makers” come to Maker Faire to show what they have made and to share what they have learned.

From the first Maker Faire, held at the San Mateo County Event Center in the San Francisco Bay Area 22-23 April 2006, the event concept has been adopted globally. With over 200 events in 2016, at least one Maker Event is held weekly around the world.

Maker Faire is primarily designed to be forward-looking, showcasing makers who are exploring new forms, new mediums and new technologies. But it’s not just for the novel in technical fields; Maker Faire features innovation and experimentation across the spectrum of science, engineering, art, performance and craft.

Maker Faire is a gathering of fascinating, curious people who enjoy learning and who love sharing what they can do. It’s a venue for makers to show examples of their work and interact with others about it.
